WHAT ARE HANCOCK STICKERS?
Designed for the use collecting autographs from your favorite celebrities, Hancock Stickers are scaled down to the dimensions of an average-sized autograph and carefully crafted to make collecting autographs easier and long-lasting.
WHAT ARE HANCOCK STICKERS MADE OF?
Manufactured with the same material used for vehicle wraps and traffic signs, Hancock Stickers are landed with a cast lamination that amplifies the graphics and life-span of each sticker.
HOW MANY KINDS OF HANCOCK STICKERS ARE THERE?
While many various styles are in the works, we currently offer Standard White, Clear Translucent and Reflective.
White Stickers are the most applicable, working on all colored surfaces.
Clear Stickers are designed to be used on all near-white colored materials such as leaflets or paper as they blend to surfaces better than any other sticker. For this very reason, however, we do not recommend them on darker, highly colorful or black-colored surfaces.
Reflective Stickers are the ‘holy grail’ of Hancock Stickers. Like the name suggests, they are reflective in practical and artificial lights but also limited in supply.
IN HOW MANY DIFFERENT WAYS CAN I USE HANCOCK STICKERS TO COLLECT AUTOGRAPHS?
This is what we liked to call the “Three-Fold Method” of collecting autographs. These methods are as follows:
1.) Hosted Autographs
2.) Conventions
3.) Fan-Mail
These methods can be used simultaneously, helping fans to complete their collection faster than ever before.
Hosted Autographs
Hosted Autographs are autographed and serial-numbered stickers available on HancockStickers.com. They are perfect for celebrities that you are unable to meet in person and it is a quick and equally simple alternative for celebrities to reach out to their fans.
The majority of our Hosted Autographs also gives fans the benifit of knowing that a portion of the proceeds go to charities selected by each of their favorite celebrities.
Conventions
Hancock Stickers are not meant to be a substitution for attending conventions. In fact, we are working hard to make them available as alternatives to photographs at the signing booths of all of your favorite celebrities throughout the world.
Like with our Hosted Stickers, all conventions and events that are collective sponsors will provide stickers that have serial numbers unique to that sponsor.
Fans can help each other further by collecting autographs at conventions for others who cannot attend and ship them to their friends at a bare minimum of cost.
Fan-Mail
With an unlimited supply of blank stickers, you can mail Hancock Stickers to as many celebrities as you wish.
We do, however, recommend this as a last-case scenario due to the risky nature of fan-mail… There is no telling how many stamps you will burn through with little to perhaps no response at all. However, fan-mail can be a fun and exciting way to collect autographs, particularly for celebrities that do not ‘host’ their autographs OR attend conventions.
For more information, see “What is the appropriate way to send “fan-mail?”
WHAT ARE THE PURPOSE OF BLANK STICKERS?
We offer blank stickers purely for the use of obtaining autographs through your own efforts. Some of these methods may include fan-mail and attending conventions or other events that are not yet collective sponsors.
WHAT ARE SOME REASONS THAT YOU SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT USE FAN-MAIL?
SHOULD NOT: Fan-mail is the one method where you cannot be guaranteed a genuine autograph. For this reason, autographs obtained through fan-mail do not have a registered serial-number and will therefor require a third party for authentication, making it potentially more difficult if you wish to sell or trade with others. Even when fan-mail IS successful, there is no telling how many stamps you will have to burn through. (For more information on serial numbers, see ‘Are all autographed Hancock Stickers authentic?’)
SHOULD: The main objective of blank stickers is so that fans have a way to obtain autographed stickers from celebrities that don’t host their autographs or attend conventions. In other words, fan-mail may be your only option in some cases.
Collecting autographs through the mail can also be very exciting and there are a ton of great tips and tricks that you can find online. Please read our Q&A Section: ’Fan-Mail Tips & Tricks’ for more information.
NOTE: Please take note, respect and accept the fact that many celebrities prefer their privacy and may simply not have the time to respond to fan mail
WHAT MAKES HANCOCK STICKERS SUCH A GREAT WAY TO COLLECT AUTOGRAPHS?
1. Identifiable
Some autographs are difficult to identify. That’s why our design includes character names/busts so you’ll never have to guess again
2. Conformity
Any two stickers from the same film or show (aside from the name and picture, of course) look exactly alike, making your collections easier to group and sort through
3. Space Savers
Collections look the best when they are balanced and look professional. The size of our stickers not only makes them easy to store and cheap to mail, but it provides more than enough room for everything in your collection – no matter how you choose to display them
4. Easy to Store
Whether on display or waiting to be autographed, Hancock Stickers are easy to store and retrieve
5. Easy to Carry
Unlike books, posters or other memorabilia that are difficult to carry around public events, our stickers are light and easy to carry anywhere with little risk of damage.
6. Easy to Mail
Each sticker is designed to fit an average-sized autograph and easily slip inside even the smallest standard-sized envelope.
7. Cost-Effective
Fan-mail has never been more affordable. With one ‘forever’ stamp, you can mail our stickers anywhere in the US and at the bare-minimum cost anywhere else in the world.
8. Replaceable
With an unlimited supply of stickers, the risk of losing them in the mail has never been lower
9. Low-Risk
Collections not only have monetary worth but can be of great personal value. With our product, you risk the loss of nothing more than the sticker itself.
10. Time-Savers
No matter what the size of a collection you desire, you can order Hosted Autographs online, take them to your nearest convention and send them through the mail all at the same time – making autograph collecting faster than ever before!
11. Professional/Long-Lasting
Autographs can rub off or get damaged over time. That’s why our stickers are designed to retain permanent ink just as well if not better than any other non-porous surface and they are manufactured with the best industrial vinyl the market has to offer.
ARE ALL AUTOGRAPHED HANCOCK STICKERS AUTHENTIC?
All autographed stickers purchased on HancockStickers.com are authentic and certified by us or a credible third-party-certifier. Each Hosted Autographs include a unique registered serial number located in the top right corner of each sticker designating our company origin.
Autographed stickers obtained through Sponsors (including, but not limited to various conventions) will also include a one-of-a-kind serial number in the top right corner of each sticker designed exclusively to that sponsor.
On account that our company does not run the conventions, we cannot keep track of or directly claim the validity of each autograph.
All stickers without serial numbers were purchased ‘blank’ with the intention of obtaining autographs privately either at a convention, through the mail or another similar means.
We do not suggest purchasing blank stickers for the purpose of resale or trade. We likewise do not recommend purchasing an autographed sticker without a serial number. If you choose to proceed with such a transaction, we recommend that you do so with great caution.
WHAT IS THE APPROPRIATE WAY TO SEND A FAN LETTER?
In order to increase your chance of success, please use the following steps:
1. Make sure that you have all of the correct materials
* One Large 4 1/8” x 9 1/2” (or larger) Envelope
* One Smaller (Return) Envelope (3 1/2” x 5” – or similar)
* Sticker/s
* Two Forever Stamps (One for a large envelope & one for a return envelope)
(For international mail, please read step 7 below)
* 1 Sheet of paper for your letter (written or typed)
* Marker (Optional)
2. Locate Your POI (Person of Interest)
In locating any POI (Person Of Interest), we suggest any one of the following websites:
IMDb.com
startiger.com
contactanycelebrity.com
fanmail.biz
Most of these services have monthly fees with free starting trials, but generally will have more frequent updates, as addresses can become outdated at any time. We recommend that you look into each and find what suits you best.
Please take note, respect and accept the fact that many celebrities prefer their privacy and may simply not have the time to respond to fan mail
3. Write Your Letter/Presentability
The more presentable the letter, the better. From cute hand-written letters to typed letters (just no magazine cut-outs, please), do whatever you feel will catch your recipient’s attention. And as presentable as your letter may be, it may do you no good without a presentable envelope.
Extra Tips:
* Do NOT write a novel – simply include a short paragraph or two describing who you are, why you are writing (ask for their autograph) and thank them for their time.
* If you are making a charitable donation, mention that in your letter (Check out “8. Additional Tips”)
* If you send a second sticker, explain who it is for.
* Do not send more than two stickers. In some cases, one sticker may give you better odds
4. Including a Sharpie (Optional)
We’ve never seen anything that proves it will increase your chances, but including a marker might be convenient. When responding to fan-mail, most celebrities already have one handy.
Such an option is advised mainly if you prefer they sign with something other than black. Providing a specific marker does not mean that they will use it. The one guarantee you have is that it will cost you more to mail.
Extra Tips:
* Use bubble-lined envelopes when mailing markers
* Do NOT expect or ask them to return the marker
* ‘Sharpie’ brand is highly recommended
* Write “Do Not Bend” on envelope (Optional)
5. Fill Out SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope)
This is perhaps the most important step. Why should they sign your sticker and then pay for postage??
Write your address at the center of a small envelope. Remember that your SASE envelope can be any size so long as it is smaller than your big envelope but larger than your sticker.
If you are mailing out of the country, make sure you SASE has the correct return postage. (See “7. International Postage”)
Extra Tips:
* Double-check your address
* Write “Do Not Bend” on letter (Optional)
* Double-check that your envelope is stamped! Forgetting a stamp OR your return envelope may certainly ruin your chances of hearing back.
6. Fill Out POI (Person of Interest) Envelope
On your larger envelope, Put POI Name and address at it’s center. Include your name and address at the top left in case there are any complications with delivery. This way – at the very least – you will get your sticker/s and a SASE back to re-use.
If you are mailing out of the country, make sure that you include enough postage to get it to your destination. (See “7. International Postage”)
Extra Tips:
* Double-check the address
* Write “Do Not Bend” on letter (Optional)
* Double-check all of it’s contents – i.e. Letter, SASE, Stickers
* Triple-check that your SASE is stamped!
Seal your large envelope with all of it’s contents, stamp it, mail it and wait
7. International Postage
You can use the same kind of postage when mailing out of the country, but you will need more stamps. Check with your local post office to make sure you have enough.
For return postage, it’s very different. The best option is to purchase stamps from your recipient’s region and apply the accurate postage.
If this option is unavailable to you, you can exchange money at your local bank or other professional exchange for your recipient’s regional currency. But in this case, be sure you include an SAE (return envelope without postage).
Extra Tips:
* When using online ‘pay-and-print’ postage, make sure there is no expiration date. In the time it takes for your recipient to mail you back, the postage may expire.
* Write “Do Not Bend” on letter (Optional)
* Double-check all of it’s contents including currency or return postage
8. ADDITIONAL TIPS
Find POI on Social Media-
Some celebrities have personal Facebook or Twitter accounts. It may not hurt to ask them if they accept fan mail at a particular address or if they have a standard fee for signing autographs.
Call Their Agent-
As an alternative to direct contact, some agencies have their phone number listed with the mailing address and agent name(s). In this case- call the number, request their personal agent and ask them if their client accepts fan mail. You might also ask if they prefer an alternate mailing address or charge fees, etc.
Make a Charitable Donation-
Check out: looktothestars.org/
This website lists a vast majority of celebrities and a history of charities they have contributed to.
It’s best to donate to the charity online and then send proof of your donation rather than write a check. Consider contacting them or their agent first to inquire on such matters.
No matter what, remember to be generous. It’s called charity for a reason…
Have fun! –
Collecting autographs can be exciting at times and at others, very daunting. A lot of it depends on your outlook and how much effort you are willing to put into getting that autograph.
Remember, you’re not their only fan –
Yes, you buy alot of tickets and go to all of their movies. But you aren’t the only one…
